Modernising and improving teaching plans and methods in mathematics is improving the quality of MINT training in Russia as part of the Meta-Math project. Initial steps are being taken to modernise content and teaching methods by introducing blended learning principles and contemporary education technologies. The project is also aiming to support teachers of mathematical modules. In addition, it is integrating university teaching staff who are helping to introduce technology-based methods.
The Education Technology Lab is using modern education methods to help provide the technological foundations for the project’s goals. It is doing so with the intelligent tutoring learning system Math-Bridge, which uses artificial intelligence procedures to enable high levels of adaptivity and customisation in learning processes. As well as developing the IT system, another focus is localising teaching and learning content and their digitisation, translation and testing in a university context. The EdTec Lab is also training teachers how to use ITS.
