Dr. Milos Kravcik was one of the organizers of the Workshop “Awareness and Reflection in Technology Enhanced Learning” (ARTEL), held in conjunction with the 12th European Conference on Technology Enhanced Learning (EC-TEL) on September 12-15 in Tallinn (Estonia). 7 papers were accepted and presented in this ARTEL edition, including the preliminary report on the ADAPTION project that aims to facilitate transition of companies towards Industry 4.0 from DFKI EdTec Lab. EdTec also contributed to the TEL@Work workshop on workplace learning and professional development, namely with a reflection on the APPsist project and a vision on leveraging the Internet of Things for workplace training.
This year the EC-TEL conference focused on Data Driven Approaches in Digital Education. The European Association of Technology Enhanced Learning (EATEL) paid tribute to the memory of two highly influential members of this community, who passed away last year and named two awards accordingly – Martin Wolpers Award for EC-TEL best paper and Erik Duval Award for open practices in research and teaching. EC-TEL 2019 will take place in Leeds (UK).
